About Hajar
I graduated from Goldsmiths University of London in English Literature and Linguistics (June 2020) and I’ve have been working as an English tutor part-time (October 2018- currently). Working at a tutoring centre has given me valuable experience as I was given the chance to teach several classes and experiment with different teaching methods. Furthermore I also taught Esol which I really enjoyed in helping motivate students in language learning and becoming determined to gain native speaker-like proficiency.

With teaching, I prepare lesson plans that are in line with what the students need to learn to improve their grades and understanding of certain topics. Also to make good use of the time given to teach and for the student to learn efficiently. The plan consists of an introduction to the topic or text (literature or Language), learning to analyse the text and identifying key features. Also setting essay/exam style questions to practice writing and to see how the reading and analysis can be transferred into good quality and standard of writing. So part of the lesson Is reading and analysing, completing activities, having a discussion on the text and support in how to answer question and feedback. Usually I like to split lessons up in topics I.e. poetry, novels...but it’s also down to your preference of study.
