About Tim
I am an experienced English and academic writing teacher with a passion for helping students think critically and express their ideas clearly. I hold a Master’s degree in Security, Conflict and International Development from the University of Leicester and have been teaching since 2016.
I have worked and taught in the UK, Central Asia, and the Middle East, including teaching at universities in Iraq and working with international students online for many years. These experiences have given me a broad global perspective and helped me develop an engaging, discussion-based teaching style.
I enjoy helping students become more confident writers, deeper thinkers, and more effective communicators—skills that are essential for academic success and for understanding the world around them.

My lessons focus on developing strong critical thinking, clear writing, and confident communication. I help students improve their essay writing, literature analysis, and academic English through structured discussion, guided practice, and personalised feedback.
With years of international teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Security, Conflict and International Development, I bring a broad academic perspective to my classes. Lessons typically last 50–60 minutes and are designed for motivated students who want to improve their writing, prepare for exams, or develop advanced academic skills.
I work with middle school, secondary school, and university-level students, adapting each lesson to the student’s goals, whether that is improving grades, preparing essays, strengthening reading comprehension, or developing deeper analytical thinking.
