Tim was a most valuable member of the English Department at Wellington College, teaching the full age range (Y9-Y13) with commitment, erudition and enthusiasm. His lessons are outstanding in both content and delivery, including careful planning, sensitivity and awareness of how young people learn. They are peppered with a sense of humour and enhanced by his passion for literature.
Tim's marking and feedback is most meticulous, with very careful attention to detail and to each assessment objective; it is constructive and clear, with a determined focus on the next steps towards improvement.
Finally, Tim is conscientious and respectful of deadlines, he collaborates with colleagues / a team with insight, a wealth of knowledge and imagination, and cheerful energy. He has often volunteered to put together special extension events or schemes of work that step out of the box, most memorably Science and the Romantics and a rap lyrics unit in his 6th Form IB work. These examples show the sheer breadth of Tim's interests and skills.
On a personal level, Tim was a much loved member of our community; his erudition, sense of humour and incredible drawing skills were catalysts for friendships and conversations alike.

Tim worked under me in the English department at Berkhamsted school for a year and was an exemplary practitioner with encyclopedic understanding of the canon and differentiation to achieve superb exam results and impressive progress from all he taught.
