About Nisha
I’m a Carleton University graduate with a major in Applied Linguistics and a minor in American Sign Language (ASL), and I’ve recently completed my Ontario teaching certification, graduating from teachers college in April 2025. With an outgoing personality and a strong passion for education, I strive to create engaging, supportive, and personalized learning experiences for every student.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy crocheting, solving puzzles, and finding new ways to explore my creative side.

As an experienced English tutor with a background in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies, a minor in American Sign Language (ASL), and professional experience as both an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapist and Educational Assistant, I offer comprehensive, student-centered lessons tailored to individual needs. Now OCT (Ontario College of Teachers) certified , I combine communicative teaching methods with real-world application to help students reach their goals.
I begin by assessing each learner’s strengths and areas for growth, then design engaging lessons that are clear, effective, and inclusive. My background in linguistics allows me to explain language concepts with clarity, while my ASL experience supports diverse and accessible instruction.
While I specialize in working with primary and junior students, I support English learners at all levels. Tutoring includes academic writing, exam preparation, reading comprehension, and conversational skills.
