About Pippa
Hi, I’m Pippa. I’ve been teaching for 18 years and specialise in helping A Level/GCSE students feel more confident with Film and Media Studies. I have a BA in Film, a PGCE and experience as an Eduqas examiner.
I know that students can understand a text well but still struggle to turn their ideas into an exam answer. I make analysis and essay writing feel more manageable by breaking them into clear steps and giving feedback students can use straight away.
I’m patient, approachable and experienced in supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning needs. My aim is for every student to leave a lesson knowing what they’ve improved and what to work on next.

I teach A Level & GCSE Film Studies and Media Studies through one-to-one, hour-long online lessons. With 18 years of teaching experience and experience as an Eduqas examiner, I help students understand what exam questions are asking and turn their ideas about films into clear, well-supported answers.
I adapt each lesson to the student. We might analyse a scene together, break down a past-paper question, plan an essay or practise writing a stronger paragraph. I use clear steps, visual prompts and worked examples, then give students a chance to try the skill themselves with feedback as they go.
My lessons are for A Level/GCSE students who want to build their confidence in analysis, essay writing and exam technique. I have experience supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning needs, and I’ll find an approach that works for the individual student.
I also offer essay marking and coursework guidance which are available for an additional fee. Please message me for prices.
