About Emily
I’m Emily Pearson, a Kent-based SEN qualified teacher with DBS and over 10 years of experience supporting children with additional needs. I specialise in early support, working with autistic learners and those with SEND, helping them to make progress not only in literacy, numeracy, and study skills, but also in confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing. I have an understanding and experience of reintegration into schools for students facing barriers to school attendance. My role within education has taught me many transferable skills for education subjects in different subjects. Having experience in personal development and life skills has allowed me as a priority within a learning session the importance of allowing students to explore and express their emotions as students need their wellbeing and emotional to avoid masking, avoidance of misconceptions within learning. I have excellent communication skills, I have a good work ethic and can build secure relationships with students to put them at ease.

The lesson, curriculum and specification content is adapted to suit a range of learners with individual needs to enhance their passion for the subject and self-esteem. Having a background within SEND, I understand the importance of planning and delivering based on a student’s individual pace and level to their individual need. The main aim of any lesson is for students to thrive whilst being able to develop their cognitive, social and emotional skills inside and outside of the classroom.
