About Sakinah
I am a professionally trained early childhood educator with over five years of teaching experience across Singapore and Australia, including serving as a Preschool Room Leader. My background in structured phonics instruction and early numeracy development allows me to support young learners with clarity, patience, and proven methodology.
Throughout my career, I have guided children from minimal letter and number recognition to confident early readers and capable problem-solvers. I believe that strong foundations in literacy and numeracy are essential for long-term academic success, and I approach every lesson with intentional planning and measurable goals.
Having worked within both Singapore’s Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) and Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), I bring a well-rounded, research-informed perspective to my teaching. I prioritize clear communication, regular progress updates, and a structured yet encouraging learning environment where children feel safe to try, grow, and succeed.

My teaching approach is structured, engaging, and developmentally informed. With over five years of early childhood experience across Singapore and Australia, including serving as a Preschool Room Leader, I specialize in phonics, English, and early math for preschool and lower primary students.
I use a systematic phonics methodology focused on letter-sound mastery, blending, segmenting, and reading fluency. For numeracy, I emphasize strong number sense and conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Lessons are interactive and visually supported, ensuring children remain engaged in an online setting.
Each online lesson (45–60 minutes) is carefully structured with revision, explicit teaching, guided practice, and independent application. I incorporate visual slides, interactive questioning, and short engagement breaks to maintain focus and participation.
A key part of my philosophy is giving children structured choices within lessons. When children feel ownership of their learning, they become more confident, independent, and motivated.
My lessons are suitable for:
Preschool learners (ages 3–6) building early literacy and numeracy foundations
Lower primary students (ages 7–8) strengthening reading fluency and core math skills
