About Maria
I have taught Flamenco and Classical guitar since 1993 in New Zealand since I founded Flamenco NZ in Auckland. I use tab and recordings for Flamenco guitar and musical notation and recordings for Classical guitar. I also teach chords and songs as well as music some theory. For Classical guitar students there are options to sit exams. I have taught 2 students right from Grade 1 up to Grade 8 (Royal School of Music & Trinity College, London) They passed with merit and distinction. Classes are for fun or professional with regular performance opportunities.

Each class includes a technique exercise such as scales, arpeggios or strumming patterns. The remainder of the class is spend on learning and understanding a piece of music. There is also room for improvisation or writing short compositions. Classes are usual individual which enables the teacher to give undivided attention to the student and tailor the class to the student's needs. Group classes are also available and the aim is to keep the class size to 2-3 students. Online tuition also available.
