About Cris
I completed a MEng in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London, followed by a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and post-doc in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins.
Across nine years of research experience, my work has involved computer programming in MATLAB, R, Python, Unity & C#, C++, Arduino, and more. I have developed game applications for computer and for immersive virtual reality using Unity & C#, created websites using HTML, JavaScript and CSS, interfaced with devices using Arduino and Python, and performed data and statistical analysis, data visualization, computer modeling, and machine learning estimation in MATLAB, Python, and R.
In my research job, I have mentored junior researchers and trainees in programming, developing a strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. I was also the Lead Instructor for 4 courses at Johns Hopkins, each taught multiple times. I have extensive experience with both in-person and online teaching of computer programming in MATLAB, Python, and Unity/C#. Together, this work has provided me with strong foundations to meet your tutoring needs.

I will support you by first breaking down complex theoretical concepts into simple, digestible chunks. As a neurodiverse person myself, I also care deeply about supporting students with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. I have completed a Teaching Academy Certificate at Johns Hopkins with a focus on inclusive education, and I remain committed to strengthening my evidence-based practices through ongoing coursework in educational psychology.
