About Lauren
Teaching has always been about helping children believe in themselves. I am an experienced British primary teacher and Head of Year 3, passionate about making learning clear, enjoyable and confidence-building. I love seeing pupils go from “I can’t do this” to “I’ve got it!”, and I design my lessons to make that journey possible.
I teach across both the English National Curriculum and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy. My lessons are well-structured, supportive and engaging, breaking learning into manageable steps and celebrating progress along the way.
With several years of experience teaching KS1–2 in British and international schools, I bring professionalism, warmth and high expectations to every session. I work with primary-aged pupils (5–11), including those who need extra support, a confidence boost, or additional challenge.

I take a child-centred, confidence-building approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the individual learner. My teaching is rooted in strong relationships, clear routines and high expectations, helping children feel safe to ask questions, take risks and enjoy learning.
I use a range of techniques including modelling, guided practice, discussion and practical activities, ensuring concepts are broken down into manageable steps and revisited regularly to secure understanding.
Lessons are carefully aligned with both the English National Curriculum (KS1–2) and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, with equal emphasis on literacy and numeracy. I support children with reading comprehension, writing structure, spelling, grammar, number sense, calculations and problem-solving, adapting content and language to match curriculum expectations and assessment styles in both systems.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter sessions can be arranged for younger children. Sessions usually include a recap of prior learning, a clear teaching focus, guided practice, independent application and ongoing feedback, helping children build confidence and independence over time.
I am an experienced British primary teacher and Head of Year 3, with several years of classroom experience teaching both UK and UK-aligned curricula in international and British school settings. This allows me to confidently support children transitioning between the English and Scottish systems, as well as those who need consolidation or challenge.
My tutoring is suitable for primary-aged children (approximately ages 5–11) following either the English National Curriculum or the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, including children who need extra support, confidence-building, or extension beyond classroom learning.
