About Charlotte
Hi! My name is Charlotte, and I have been playing the balalaika for 12 years now. I used to live in Moscow, Russia where I had weekly lessons for years, and now that I am back in England, I have kept it going. The balalaika is an unusual instrument to play, and one that people are always curious to hear played. The balalaika makes the most beautiful sound, even when played at beginner level. I love it and I know you will too!

The first few lessons will be an hour long, then we can have shorter ones (half an hour), just to get to grips with the basics. We will start with plucking, where the notes are, reading music etc. I will set exercises for you to practise between lessons so that we can make the most of our lesson time. You will learn the balalaika through short pieces, exercises, and traditional folk music.
