About Li
Do you want to learn Chinese effectively without bombarding them with tedious grammar and translation exercises? Do you want to pass the exams with flying colours? Do you to become lifelong intrinsic language learners? Do you want to cultivate YOUR intercultural competencies? An experienced and qualified Chinese teacher from Taiwan is here for you.
I have extensive experiences teaching Chinese to both adults and kids, in one-to-one and group classes. The subjects I teach ranging from general Chinese, business Chinese, GCSEs, SESEs to HSK. Currently I teach Year 11 SESEs at Haydon School, and I run the Chinese Language and Culture Club at Prendergast Ladywell Primary School. In each lesson, I design in-class activities to engage students in Chinese language and culture; I deploy a lot of games in classroom to make my students learn effectively by doing, and have a lot of fun.
My previous work experience at the Embassy of Taiwan in El Salvador (2014-5), and my academic background as an historian enrich my lesson content and guide students navigate, and think critically about, cultures.
I love learning languages (I am fluent in Spanish, Arabic and Persian; and I have working knowledge of French, Italian, Russian and Turkish). I aspire to inspire young learners in the same way. I feel a sense of achievement when helping students to adopt target languages for their own interests, to broaden their horizons, and add to think, to problem-solve, in a different way.
I believe my passion for teaching, my work experiences, and my academic background have made me well prepared to a great Chinese tutor. I am available for interview and Chinese taster class whenever is convenient for you. I thank you for your consideration.
