About Jodie
I have a love of French and Spanish culture and language, and I enjoy imparting my knowledge to my students. I particularly enjoy literature and art from both countries, and therefore, I am able to provide both cultural and linguistic development for my students.

I have tutored French and Spanish for eight years. I have ample experience in teaching French from Year 3 to Year 13 and Spanish from Year 5 to Year 11. In 2022 and 2023, the students that I tutored in A Level French gained A* and A grades, and among my GCSE French and Spanish students there was a 100% pass rate (grade 5 - grade 9), with some students progressing from a grade 3 to a grade 7. In 2024 and 2025, the pass rate among my students in GCSE French and Spanish was also 100% (grade 5 - grade 9). My teaching style is to stretch and challenge the most able students, while providing support and guidance for those that require it.
I have a very good knowledge of the new AQA GCSE French and Spanish specifications, and the A Level French specifications, as well as the Edexcel GCSE and iGCSE French and Spanish syllabuses. I also have experience teaching the literature and film study element of the A Level French specification, having taught texts and films such as "Au Revoir les Enfants", "Candide", "Un Sac de Billes" and "La Haine". I am a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, and I have a MA in Translation Studies.
