About Claire

Hi! I am an English tutor with 6 years of experience teaching ESL to students of all abilities and ages. I really enjoy getting to know my students and building lessons that are both fun and functional.

I can help with any of your English language goals, from writing papers, to improving pronunciation and listening, to developing specialized vocabulary for any professional or social situations.

About the lesson

My educational philosophy emphasizes student-led learning, authentic contexts, and cultural competence. Having taught immigrants recently arrived in America, then living and teaching in Vietnam for 5 years, I understand how cultural awareness plays an essential role in language learning, and always strive to make my students feel respected and valued for their backgrounds.

I have taught students at every age and proficiency level, from teaching 6 year old students how to write the alphabet in Grade 1 Vietnamese public school classrooms, to middle school academic English in specialized language centers, to diverse classrooms of adult immigrant learners at local community college.

My lessons are personally designed and curated to help my students achieve their language, academic, and social goals.
