About Ben
Hi! I’m Ben, a third-year Accounting and Finance student at university with 2 years of tutoring experience, specialising in Accounting, Economics and Finance. Having studied these subjects extensively at university, I understand how challenging they can initially seem. My approach is to break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps, while helping students develop the exam technique and confidence needed to perform well under pressure. I’ve worked with students at different levels and with different learning styles, adapting my lessons to suit each individual. I’m particularly focused on making sure students genuinely understand the underlying concepts rather than simply memorising information. I’m proud to have achieved strong results with my students, with my last 3 Accounting/Economics/Finance students all achieving an A. I aim to bring the same structured and results-focused approach to every student I work with. I can help with: • Accounting fundamentals and more advanced accounting topics • Economics concepts, theory and exam technique • Finance principles and calculations • Breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps • Practice questions and worked examples • Exam preparation and revision • Improving confidence and identifying areas for improvement Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an upcoming exam, or aiming to push your grade from a B to an A, I’ll tailor each lesson around your individual goals. I am a determined and respectful tutor who understands the pressures of exams and the stress that they can bring. I like to start students off with understanding the fundamentals of the subject on which I can help them build upon. Once confident, the key is to go over past papers and challenge the student to really see them excel and get that A. The length of a lesson can vary as I am very flexible meaning it can go on for as long as the student requires. My qualifications include straight A's in Higher Accounting, Mathematics, English, Physics, Economics and Chemistry. The lessons are directed towards students who are studying any of the subjects mentioned above at nat5/GCSE level or Higher/A-level.
