About Freya
I am an experienced flute tutor with 6 years of teaching practice and around 150 successful students. I teach beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced players with equal dedication.
My approach combines practical exercises with performance preparation. I focus on breath management, tone clarity, finger speed, articulation, and rhythmic control. Alongside technique, I train students in musical interpretation and stage confidence.
I encourage students to apply what they learn through small performances, recordings, and practice sessions. This practical method helps them improve faster and gain self-assurance.
One of my strengths is helping students overcome fear of mistakes. I guide them patiently, correct errors gently, and encourage continuous improvement.
My aim is to create independent musicians who understand their instrument deeply and enjoy expressing themselves through the flute.

My approach to teaching flute focuses on consistent practice, personalised guidance, and a supportive atmosphere. I adapt my teaching style to suit visual, auditory, and practical learners so that every concept is clearly understood.
Lessons are carefully structured, beginning with breathing exercises and tone development, followed by finger coordination drills and rhythm practice.
I guide students in developing smooth transitions, accurate pitch control, and expressive phrasing. In addition, I teach related subjects such as music notation, scale theory, tempo understanding, and ear development.
Flexibility is important in my classes. If a student struggles with a particular technique, I adjust the lesson plan and provide additional exercises. Collaboration is encouraged through open communication and goal-setting discussions.
Positivity plays a key role in my methodology. I motivate students with constructive feedback and celebrate their progress regularly. My aim is to develop disciplined practice habits and strong musical confidence in every flute student.
