About Jeanne

After two years of preparatory classes for business schools at Lycée Chateaubriand in Rennes, I joined ESSEC in 2017. I am currently completing the last year of my training, during which I followed in-depth course in Negotiation and International Relations and a specialization program on African continent. I am particularly interested in the public sector, humanitarian and development issues.

The method depends on the level (middle school/ high school or higher) and the subject. I will be able to adapt by discussing with the student during a first lesson, according to the way he already works, his needs, what he prefers.

Generally speaking, when I myself was in junior high school, high school and later in preparatory classes, my working method consisted first of all in mastering the structure and coherence of the course: understanding the plan, identifying the links between the different parts and then visualising them using diagrams, mind maps or cards. The plan and general ideas can often be formulated simply, before tackling the content, which sometimes needs to be clarified by taking more time. I think that you first need to be aware of what you know, what you understand. On these points, the pupil must trust himself. Then, we identify what is not understood, where doubts and questions remain, and we work on this to remove the blocking points. Once everything is coherent, and the notions are globally mastered, we can start again from the beginning in a serene manner and do application exercises, for example when we have to revise for an assignment.

To sum up:
- make the course coherent by explaining the structure and the links,
- identify the points that have been mastered,
- identify the misunderstood points, in order to work on them and, for example, make a sheet or a diagram that can be taken up again whenever necessary,
- take up the whole course again and do exercises that allow the knowledge to be applied (exercises, subjects from the annals, etc.).
