About Terry
Terry Foster is a multidisciplinary entrepreneur, educator, and creative with a passion for helping others bring ideas to life. Before launching multiple successful ventures of his own, Terry built a career as a chef and restaurant consultant, where he developed a deep understanding of business operations, branding, and customer experience. Today, Terry is the founder of several companies across diverse industries — including a solid wood furniture brand (Grain & Burl Urban Design), a specialty woodworking supply store (Hobby Hardware), an online furniture marketplace (Furniture District), a multimedia studio, a marketing and communications service, a tutoring business, and an NFC card company — with more ventures in development. Beyond entrepreneurship, Terry is dedicated to empowering others through education and mentorship. He teaches Entrepreneurship and Multimedia Communications/Marketing through adult learning centers and his own studio programs, and regularly leads workshops in marketing, startups, communications, photography, and video production. Terry also volunteers his time with CivicTechWR, Futurpreneur, and Superprof, and has tutored at Conestoga College, helping students and early-stage founders develop the skills and confidence to succeed in their professional and creative goals. Driven by curiosity, creativity, and community impact, Terry believes entrepreneurship is about more than building businesses — it’s about building better systems and a better future.
