About Flora
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 3 years of experience teaching students of all levels. I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them build strong technique and a genuine love for music from the very first lesson. My teaching philosophy is built on communication, flexibility, integrity, accountability, and positivity, ensuring every student receives clear, honest, and encouraging guidance throughout their learning journey. I explain each concept in simple terms and make sure students understand the reasoning behind what they practice, not just the mechanics. I adjust my pace to match each student's comfort level, spending extra time on areas like hand coordination or note reading when needed. I give honest feedback on progress while celebrating small wins to keep learning enjoyable rather than stressful. I also set clear goals and track progress regularly, helping students build consistent practice habits. My teaching approach for Piano, Music Theory, and Rhythm Training focuses on helping beginners build a strong foundation through clear communication and steady encouragement. Communication is at the core of my teaching. I explain each concept in simple, clear terms and check in often to make sure students understand not just how to play something, but why certain techniques matter, helping them practice more effectively on their own.
Flexibility shapes how I plan lessons. Every student progresses at a different pace, so I adjust the focus and speed of each session based on how they are doing, spending more time on hand coordination or note reading when needed, and moving ahead when they feel ready.
Integrity guides the feedback I give. I am honest about a student's progress, recognizing both strengths and areas that need more practice, so they always have a true picture of their development rather than only positive comments.
Accountability plays an important role in keeping students on track. I set clear, small goals for each stage of learning and check progress regularly, helping students build consistent practice habits and stay motivated over time.
Positivity shapes the overall learning environment. Piano can feel challenging at first, so I focus on celebrating small improvements and progress, keeping lessons encouraging rather than stressful, especially for beginners still building confidence.
My lessons start with hand posture and finger exercises, followed by note reading and simple rhythm patterns. I introduce music theory basics early, helping students understand scales and chord structures alongside their playing, gradually building toward more advanced skills as they grow more confident.
