About Sarah
I am a recently graduated PhD student who loves to help those that struggle with maths gain more confidence in the subject. I have a relaxed teaching style and encourage learning through understanding rather than memorising formulae. I have mainly studied 'pure' mathematics, which focuses on proving things from first principles which has influenced my teaching style, and believe this is the best way to succeed in this difficult subject. I work through problems step by step with my students ensuring that they understand everything along the way. Maths is a fascinating subject that I feel can be misrepresented by some as mechanical and formulaic. I like to help my students discover the beauty of this wonderful subject and develop their problem-solving skills, which are highly transferable and sought after in many subjects and careers.
