About Lady
I am Marian, I am a PhD student at UWE and Bristol University (UOB).
I am currently writing up my thesis. My PhD is in kidney and bladder urology with specialization in aquaporins. My first year was based at UWE and the remaining two years at UOB
I took my first degree in biomedical science with first class honours. Since my days as an undergraduate, I have always taught students through a scheme called Peer Assistant Learning (PAL). PAL is designed to increase student retention thus my task was to teach struggling first year up to final year undergraduate students on various subject courses. - something I do till date.
I was awarded best PAL leader in 2015 at UWE due to the increased student retention rate and grades improvement of my students. In addition to PAL, I aid lecturers in tutoring and laboratory practicals in all modules of biomedical and biological sciences.
I go through and make corrections on undergraduates' and masters courseworks, poster preparation/presentation, writing dissertation/thesis and oral presentations.
In all, I have had 6+ years experience in tutoring at university level. I know the importance of tailoring every session to the individual needs to achieve a desirable outcome.
There is nothing more satisfying than when a student finally understand the topic, improves in grades and begin to enjoy the subject in question. I always aim to achieve this level of satisfaction.
