About Kateri
I am a certified after-school teacher currently pursuing a degree in Spanish and Social Work. I have extensive experience teaching a wide range of subjects, from English and Spanish to Drama and Mindfulness. Most recently I worked as an after-school teacher working with a class of 26 scholars (students). Duties included lesson planning, parent outreach, and bilingual communications. As a Mother and student, I am looking forward to working with a wide range of scholars from home.

I believe that all people have an innate desire to learn, and address my students as scholars to encourage an atmosphere of respect towards learning and the learner. In my classes we work together to understand complex concepts through Socratic dialouge and learner-lead lessons. I am a great supporter of learning how to write logical and evidence based academic papers that not only gain the scholar a high grade, but a better understanding of written communication.

Details
I host lessons from my home or via webcam, all with a free introduction lesson that lasts a half hour. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy: if the lesson is not canceled 24 hours prior to the scheduled time, my fee still applies. This is to ensure both commitment by the scholar, as well as opportunities for other learners to be tutored. I am excited to work with you and work towards a better understanding and appreciation for the English language.
