About Emily
I've been teaching advanced high school courses for 12 years and helped hundreds of students pass their AP exams and dramatically improve their ACT scores. I've been an essay scorer for College Board for the last 3 years, and I know what it takes to do well on the exams. I also minored in editing and have extensive experience in coaching writers to improve. I LOVE seeing students achieve their goals. My tutoring approach is all about personalization and engagement. I start by assessing where my students are at, what they need, and what specific methods I need to use to ensure their growth and success.
A typical lesson plan will be interactive with modeling, guided practice, feedback, and goal setting.
Lessons are for high school students wanting to improve their ACT Reading and English scores, AP Lang and Lit students needing help to improve their reading and writing skills for the course and exam, and high school and college students wanting help to improve their writing (essay, research, etc.).
