About Emily
I've been teaching advanced high school courses for 12 years and helped hundreds of students pass their AP exams and dramatically improve their ACT scores. I've been an essay scorer for College Board for the last 3 years, and I know what it takes to do well on the exams. I also minored in editing and have extensive experience in coaching writers to improve. I LOVE seeing students achieve their goals. This is what I'm passionate about, and I can't wait to help you be successful!

My tutoring approach is all about personalization and engagement. I start by assessing where my students are at, what they need, and what specific methods I need to use to ensure their growth and success.
A typical lesson plan will be interactive with modeling, guided practice, feedback, and goal setting.
Lessons are for high school students wanting to improve their ACT Reading and English scores, AP Lang and Lit students needing help to improve their reading and writing skills for the course and exam, and high school and college students wanting help to improve their writing (essay, research, etc.).

Emily is a great teacher! She was my teacher, and I had lessons from her for about three years in high school. And everyday, she was a delight. She was able to connect to students whether they were engaged learners, introverted recluse, or somewhere in between! She engaged students through knowledge in innovative techniques and always put the student first. I would recommend her fully to anyone!
