About Leo Blackford
Hello, My name is Leo and I teach English classes for 4 years. During this period I taught classes at Fisk, CNA and Wizard for 3 years and today I work as an International Financial Analyst at an American company. I have graduated more than 2,000 students, some of whom have been specially trained in the Cambridge International Examination (FCE). Due to the number of students I already had I dealt with different needs as masters students who needed to improve English. Students with a desire for English for travel, students who needed English for job promotions, students who need English for college entrance exams and quizzes, and students who need English for their artistic lives.

Hello, I am able to teach classes in the four modalities of methodology below, my students choose one of them and I carry out the planning of the classes:
Sociointeractionist: The classes are given supported in the social conviviality of the students, with emphasis on real situations. In addition, it uses reflection, if using different textual genres and pure conversation to stimulate speech more quickly.
Audiolingual: This method of teaching focuses on speaking and listening to English, instead of using writing and reading. The classes are taught only in oral form, through a mechanical process of questions and answers, where the correct answers are reinforced. It has a great emphasis on linguistic structures. In this methodology of teaching the English language students are not exposed to grammar of the language, because they learn by repetition and not by explanations and grammatical analyzes.
Direct: It is a methodology of teaching that has as main objective the social integration of the student. In it, the student shares the knowledge he possesses. The English classes, through this teaching methodology, are taught with direct contact with the language. In addition, the student can only communicate in English during classes. Gestures, images and simulations are used for communication, always in the English language.
Traditional: It is the oldest teaching methodology. It arose from the Enlightenment and aimed to teach Latin and Greek to the students. English classes taught with this type of teaching encourage students to use the literal translation of words by teaching normative grammar. The classes are expositive and have a great deal of theory, with exercises to memorize the content taught. The learner's learning in the English language is done by translating words or an entire text and memorizing the vocabulary and grammatical rules of the English language.
