About Maya
English and English literature are some of my favourite passions, ranging from analysis to writing to simply reading. I study English at a university level and have tutored younger kids during my time in high school at a school where English was not the first language, improving their grades and showing them the joy of studying something new. I'm patient and forgiving and understand how demanding school can be, so I'll be teaching as a guide and pacing things to your level to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

Typical lesson plans would consist of students telling me where they struggle and working through the information together, as well as briefly going over what would be discussed in the next session so that I have a clearer idea of where to start. I teach by relating the topic to something current, using que cards and asking the students questions to ensure they're staying focused.
The lessons would be for students in elementary and middle school who are struggling with the English language and English literature.
