About Andrew
I am a kind and thoughtful teacher who cares deeply about writing and learning. I have taught dozens of college-level classes, both at the basic skills level and on specialized topics in literature and disability studies. My Ph.D. is in writing studies (the teaching of writing at the college level), with a special focus on students with learning disabilities.
I love working with beginning writers, or those who want to improve their skills and become more confident. I can help with essays for all sorts of purposes.

I have taught at the college level for over a decade. I specialize in academic writing, including essay writing and basic academic reading/writing/study skills. I can also teach literature from all periods.
I believe in teaching writing as a process, going from brainstorming, to drafting, to revision, until you reach your final product. I have strategies to take you every step of the way. I have particular interest and experience in teaching students with learning disabilities or neurodivergence.
I am looking for tutoring clients over the summer especially, but would consider some throughout the year, too. I have the most experience teaching college students, but I would also teach younger students, too.
