About Joanne
I have been teaching English for over 25 years - to business people, children, students and adults. I have a degree in Foreign Languages (BA in German, French & Italian) and I took my TESOL Certificate (English as a Second Language) in London. My clients have included global organisations , evening schools and elementary schools, as well as people who enjoy the English language (or sometimes less so when it comes to exams!)
I love walking in the countryside, reading, going to the theatre and I'm learning to play the piano.

The teaching method depends on you and your reasons for learning English. We can discuss this in our free trial lesson. For example, do you want to become more fluent in conversation, expand your vocabulary and improve listening comprehension? Or do you need survival English for holidays or to chat with family and friends in English? Maybe you have to learn grammar and vocabulary for the next exam. In business, you may want to increase your confidence in making telephone calls, writing e-mails or giving presentations. We can work with worksheets or textbooks or, if you prefer, you can bring your own materials to the lessons.
I have a lot of patience, I understand that not everyone has an infinite amount of time (to always do homework, for example!), and I know that we all make mistakes when learning a foreign language. I also know from my own experience that learning a language gets more difficult when you get older! No matter how old you are or what sort of course you choose, my motto is, "You can only learn a language if it's fun."

Perfect! Meine Kollegin und ich haben Business-Englischunterricht benötigt, damit die Kommunikation mit ausländischen Geschäftspartnern besser funktioniert. Bei unserer Suche sind wir auf Joanne gestoßen. Joanne ist super freundlich und motiviert uns, unsere Englischkenntnisse zu verbessern. Joanne ist Englisch-Muttersprachlerin, dies war für uns bei der Auswahl eines passenden Lehrers ein wichtiges Kriterium. Der Online-Unterricht funktioniert reibungslos, dabei geht Joanne immer individuell auf die Themen ein, bei welchen wir noch Übungsbedarf haben; ob bei Small-Talk-Gesprächen oder Grammatik-Themen.

Joanne hat mich (absolut nicht sprachbegabt,und über 50 Jahre) über 1 1/2 Jahre unterrichtet. Der Unterricht war strukturiert, aufbauend und praxisnah. Joanne vermittelt den Unterrichtsstoff verständlich und mit einer Leichtigkeit, dass man sich auf die nächste Stunde freut und einem die Hausaufgaben leicht fallen. Ich habe nicht nur die Sprache gelernt, sondern auch viel über Land und Leute. Ich kann Sie besten Gewissens und ohne Einschränkungen empfehlen.
Ich kenne Joanne von 2 Englischkursen die ich bei ihr besucht habe.Sie ist sehr sympathisch und gestaltet einen sehr individuellen Unterricht der gezielt auf den eigenen Leistungsstand und auf die Erwartungshaltung ausgerichtet ist. Sie erkennt bestehende Defizite und motiviert zum Sprechen. Ich kann Joanne nur empfehlen, meine Englischkenntnisse haben sich deutlich verbessert. Es macht Spaß bei ihr zu lernen.
Joanne ist eine wunderbar geduldige Lehrerin, die auch sehr gut und verständlich Grammatik erklären kann. Außerdem ist der Unterricht immer interessant gewesen und es wurden auch aktuelle Ereignisse im Unterricht besprochen.
Leider ist sie nicht mehr bei uns in der Nähe, sonst hätte ich immer noch Unterricht bei ihr.View more recommendations
