About DUSTIN
I am a dedicated and highly skilled professional with a diverse background in both law enforcement and education. For over 13 years, I served in the South African Police Service, where I rose to the rank of Warrant Officer in the Division of Criminal Record & Crime Scene Management. In this capacity, I specialized in forensic science, crime scene management, and evidence collection, and I later advanced to the position of Acting Sub-Section Commander in Cape Town. My career demanded precision, discipline, and a commitment to the highest professional standards—qualities that I now bring into the classroom. Alongside my investigative expertise, I hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of South Africa and am an admitted Advocate of the Cape High Court. These qualifications sharpened my ability to analyze complex issues, think critically, and communicate with clarity—skills that directly enhance my teaching practice. My transition into education was a natural progression from my role in professional training, where I designed and delivered in-service courses for new police officers. These programs, which focused on forensic analysis and crime scene management, allowed me to develop a teaching style that is clear, engaging, and student-centered. Currently, I lecture at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, where I specialize in Advanced English, Intensive English, Listening and Speaking, and Reading and Writing. Drawing upon both American and Cambridge curricula, I create dynamic lessons that foster critical thinking, communication skills, and academic excellence. My ability to connect real-world experience with classroom learning sets me apart as an educator who can inspire, motivate, and prepare students for success both academically and professionally.

With over 13 years of professional experience in law enforcement, forensic science, and legal practice, I bring a unique, real-world perspective into the classroom. My teaching methods focus on active engagement, critical thinking, and practical application. I employ techniques such as guided discussions, case studies, role-play, and scaffolded exercises to ensure students not only understand the material but also develop confidence in applying it.
A typical lesson plan begins with a clear objective, a short contextual activity to activate prior knowledge, followed by structured input (lecture, reading, or listening), interactive practice tasks, and a reflective conclusion to consolidate learning. I integrate both American and Cambridge curricula, tailoring content to suit the needs of the class.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my multidisciplinary expertise: my background as a Detective, Forensic Specialist, and Advocate allows me to connect theory with practice, making lessons relevant, engaging, and grounded in real-world application. I am also experienced in mentoring and training professionals, which helps me adapt lessons to different learning styles and goals.
My lessons are designed for university-level students and adult learners—particularly those studying Advanced English, Academic Writing, Critical Thinking, or Law-related English. I also specialize in supporting ESL learners who require intensive practice in speaking, reading, and writing to succeed in higher education or professional environments.
