About Sarah
I am an English major who has been tutoring officially for about a year and a half, but having been born into a family of teachers, I have been helping fellow students with English literature and grammar (among other subjects) since I was a child. Since being officially hired as a tutor, I have not only received my tutoring certification from the College Reading and Learning Association, but I have also had the pleasure of helping peer students figure out how they best learn and apply strategies to lead them to high marks in classes I helped them with.

My teaching method is typically centered around the idea of students learning by doing. I tend to tutor those who are at a high school level or above, and therefore like to give them free rein where I can. My approach as a tutor tends to be less of a lecture and more of a conversation. I tend to use leading questions so the students can come to their own conclusions, and do my best to pay each student mind enough to pin down any internal issues they may be experiencing, such as test anxiety or a lack of confidence that leads to self doubt.
