About Eleanor
I achieved two grade 9s in GCSE English Language and Literature and went on to study A-Level English Literature. My GCSE results also enabled me to move to the top girls’ grammar school in Shropshire. This journey is a huge part of why I want to teach. I’m dyslexic, and I used to find English and reading genuinely challenging. Over time, I developed effective learning and revision methods that helped me excel, and I discovered how motivating it is to turn that initial feeling of overwhelm into curiosity and confidence.
Because of this, I’m passionate about supporting students who may feel the way I once did. I want to show them that with the right approach, anyone can succeed in English.
I’m creative, well-organised, and I love finding fun, engaging ways to learn. I’m especially fascinated by how literature written hundreds of years ago can still feel relevant today, and I enjoy bringing that sense of discovery into my lessons.

I offer supportive and engaging lessons in English Literature, English Language and Reading for students up to GCSE level. All lessons are intended to be fun and interactive so that students can approach a subject they may find difficult in a fun way! I adapt each session to the student’s learning style so all students can achieve amazing exam results with confidence! I have experience working with SEND learners, so I’m used to breaking down tasks, using clear structure, and creating a positive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
A typical lesson lasts one hour, although I can offer shorter or longer sessions depending on what works best for the student. I use creative activities to make reading enjoyable and to help develop vocabulary and fluency.
I recently completed my A Levels at Shropshire’s top Girls’ Grammar School and will be beginning university in September. This means my knowledge of the current curriculum is excellent. My lessons are ideal for KS1–KS4 students, including those who need confidence-building, extra support, or help preparing for assessments and GCSE exams.
