About Rebecca
I graduated with a 2.1 in English Literature (BA Hons) from Newcastle University and have converted to Law. I often review and correct friends' and students' work such as CVs and essays. Helping with covering letters has helped them subsequently obtain jobs/university places. I certainly offer a high level of education in English to any academic level, having studied it for three years at university culminating in a dissertation. Last year I also achieved a distinction in a legal essay, and I have finished my legal studies with commendation. I have been working in the legal industry from September 2018 to present.

I give lessons to those improving their basic knowledge of English, to high school and degree level. I achieved A*s in English and English Literature at GCSE, and an A in English Literature and Language at A level, so am competent to give lessons to those sitting any level of English high school exam. I can also offer teaching at degree level by giving helpful instruction on exams, essays or dissertations. I'm a very friendly and cheerful person, but I am also determined to achieve the best results possible for students.
In lessons I will gauge a student's literacy level and ask them what stage they're at in their learning. I will then ask if there is anything specific a student needs help with, such as grammar improvement, past papers or writing on a particular subject, and adjust my teaching to their needs. I will also create exercises of my own to test their grammar, syntax and writing abilities. Depending on the level / needs of the student, these exercises could be tailored towards persuasive writing, vocabulary improvement or a number of other skills a student wants to gain.

Details
I charge £20/hour for teaching those below secondary school age, £20/hour for those I teach in secondary school up to GCSE level, and £30/hour for those studying for English A levels. I charge £30/hour for those wishing to have tutoring at degree level. I won't be charging anything for travel costs.
Those below or at secondary school level paying upfront for 5 hours would be charged a reduced rate of £90, and £160 when purchasing 10 hours upfront.
Those at A level and degree level paying upfront for 5 hours would be charged a reduced rate of £120, and £250 when purchasing 10 hours upfront.
