About Ashley
I am a native speaker of American English. I hold a BA in English Literature and an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I have experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, including those with special needs and learning differences such as dyslexia. I currently live in central Texas where I enjoy some of the sunniest weather in the world and rich southern culture. I have a love of learning and hope to inspire the same in all of my students.

The initial lesson includes an interview in which we will discuss your learning goals and motivations for learning English. This will allow me to craft a learning plan that specifically addresses your needs, interests, and learning style. Moving forward, lessons are highly conversational and focus on building intelligibility (your ability to be understood by others) and comprehension (your ability to understand others). This takes the focus off of the detailed mechanics of language, and allows you to use English more naturally from the beginning and build a confidence.
