About Tania
I am registered teacher with 16 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I majored in English, Drama Arts and Theatre Arts, after which I completed my teaching qualification. I am also a 3rd-year part time student of Applied Psychology, with a special interest in Educational Psychology and psychological counselling. I have a passion for language, learning, analysis and people, and I strive to make my teaching a meaningful and uplifting experience for my students.

I aim to create a real-world connection to what my students are learning, thereby giving them a better understanding of why they need to learn what is being taught. Furthermore, I offer my students the ability to make their own choices when it comes to learning. Choice can be a powerful motivator, because it helps to foster student interest and independence. I also make learning interactive by creating hands-on lessons that involve students every step of the way. Finally, being an effective teacher is an important job, but that doesn't mean that you have to remain serious in class at all times. I like to loosen up a bit and acknowledge that my students may have different interests and learning styles than your own. It's okay for teachers to laugh at themselves at times, and to have some fun. :)
