About Eliza
I teach because I love my subject. I think everyone can gain something from the study of English, even if you do not plan to carry it forward into further education. It teaches you to be perceptive, analytical and creative.
On a more practical level, English is a core subject, and a good GCSE grade in it is a requirement for many universities and job schemes. As much as I want my students to love English, I understand that the most important thing is to give them the tools to pass their exams well.
Also, teaching runs in the family! My mum is Head of English at a secondary school, and we often discuss the best approaches for success in the subject. She often provides me with resources for my tutoring; you can be assured that your lessons with me will be backed up by a seasoned educator.

Hello! My name is Eliza, and I’m a recent English graduate from the University of Cambridge.
As for how our sessions would work - I'm happy to adapt my lesson approach to you! The English curriculum is challenging and varied, and, having left school (relatively) recently, I understand that what each student needs to access their full potential is different.
I am happy and equipped to tutor anyone in Year 7-13 (age 11-18), and have a particularly thorough understanding of the GCSE and A-Level Curriculum. I'd also be happy to help with HPQ or EPQ: I achieved an A* in my EPQ.
