About Candace
My goal is to help my students succeed in becoming stronger readers and writers. English can be tricky and it requires both a systematic and abstract approach for understanding and proficiency. To me, this allows limitless possibilities for students to become greater critical thinkers and more creative problem solvers.

I use a leveled-question approach to help me understand students’ learning styles, interests, strengths, and areas in need of growth. I believe that secondary students learn best when they are comfortable, understand goals and expectations, and are excited about the content. I have 1.5 years experience teaching 10th grade ELA, but I recently transitioned to 9th grade. I have also worked with grades 6-8.
