I am currently attending a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in the United States. I have spent the last 10 years traveling extensively around the world for my job.

I believe that the most authentic, lasting and profound learning can only take place when the student manages to fully immerse himself in the subject, to become passionate about it, to live it. For this reason, I am a strong supporter of learning by doing: while the first part of learning a language should in my opinion focus on learning the grammar bases of the same, subsequently the role of the teacher should go to change in order to discover the passions and interests of the student and suggest suitable and personalized tools to ignite and nurture the interest of the student towards the study. An example: Mario has an immense passion for horses, Lisa for football. Both study English. After having studied grammar well, I would modify and differentiate their path, suggesting to Mario, for example, the viewing of films in English with increasing comprehension difficulties (Spirit - wild horse; War Horse; The man who whispered to horses. ..) while Lisa would recommend to see some football game or read some newspaper in English. I would then use these experiences to make them exercise on the important aspects of the language (written and oral comprehension, writing skills, grammar, analytics ...) in order to involve not only their mind, but their whole being, leveraging their passions and emotions.
