About Hope
I am a current college student studying English and professional writing. My major centers around the English language, meaning I understand not only its rules but how to use it effectively. I have over 6 months of classroom experience. While working as an ESL teacher in a high school in Bogotá, Colombia, I learned how to use Spanish as a tool for learning English, like by teaching cognates and similar root words. I also learned the importance of practicing speaking and listening. For fun, I like to listen to music (especially pop and reggaeton), travel, listen to audiobooks, cook and bake, do puzzles and crafts, and spend time with my family and my dog. I look forward to speaking with you!

I am a friendly, approachable teacher with an American English accent and a casual manner of speaking.
For students who already speak some English, we could have lessons centered on pronunciation, learning more advanced vocabulary, developing English reading and writing skills, or conversation practice and roleplay of various situations. In a lesson, we may read a short story or interview aloud, focusing on pronunciation, and then discuss the text and any unknown words or ideas. Or we may concentrate on grammatical concepts, such as doing a lesson focused on practicing the present perfect or comparing it to the past simple (I have done vs. I did).
The focus of our lessons is entirely up to your needs and lifestyle! I look forward to working with you.
