About Myra
Hi! I’m Myra, a student at the University of Sydney studying a Bachelor of Design in Architecture.
I’ve always loved working with kids and have several years of experience with primary and high school students through debating, public speaking and sports coaching. I’m a super friendly and patient person, and I love getting to know each student and finding the way of explaining something that works best for them.
I know that Math and English don’t always come easily, so I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and giving things a go. For me, the best part is seeing something finally click and watching their confidence grow!
I tutor Math and English from primary school through to Year 10 and aim to keep lessons positive, relaxed and genuinely helpful.

I want my lessons to feel relaxed and encouraging, while still making sure we’re actually getting things done! Every student learns differently, so I like to get to know what they’re confident with, what they find tricky and what way of explaining things works best for them.
For Maths, I’ll usually break a concept down, work through it together and then let the student have a go themselves.
For English, I can help with everything from reading and comprehension to writing, structuring ideas and school assignments.
Through my experience working with both primary and high school students, I am used to adapting lessons to different ages, personalities and confidence levels.
Lessons are usually around 60 minutes and can be shaped around what the student needs most (schoolwork, preparing for an assessment or going over a topic causing confusion)
