About Bilal
Hi! I'm Billy, and I've just completed my A-levels, so I'm fresh off the hours of revision and ready to pass the proficiency onto somebody else! I received an A in Maths, having studied at King Edward VI Camphill Boys for seven years. I'm a naturally curious person, given that I like understanding how things work, not just memorising facts. That’s probably why I enjoy maths and physics, but also why I like fixing things, or why I'm interested in audio engineering, or even figuring out the best, most efficient way to tidy my room. I tend to break down big tasks into small steps, because there's something really satisfying about making progress, and I feel as though that carries through into how I help people learn too. Outside of tutoring, I’m into art, producing beats, and I enjoy playing hockey and football. I also write poetry on occasion and hang out with my cat, Diego. Whether it’s doing something creative or simplifying a messy problem, I like taking complex things and turning them into something that just makes sense. That’s a big part of how I teach.

I keep things simple and clear: no jargon, no assuming you already know everything. My friends say I could explain mechanics to a 10-year-old if I had to (don’t worry, I won’t make you feel like one!). I'll break topics down step-by-step, making sure you actually understand what’s going on before we move on. Lessons would mainly consist of explanation and guided practice, in a casual yet productive fashion, but could involve exam-style questions too. I tailor everything to your level, whether you’re aiming to pass or hit the very top grades, and whether you're just beginning KS4 or approaching the end of Year 13.
