About Amanda
My name is Mandy, and I have been a language and singing teacher for many years. I studied a degree in English and classical music to postgraduate level at University (New Zealand and Australia) , which led to an excellent knowledge of the sounds of German, French, Italian, English and the International Phonetics Alphabet.
I was invited to complete an honours degree in English at the conclusion of my studies, and was awarded an academic excellence award. I was invited on a full scholarship to complete a PGCE in education at Auckland University, New Zealand.
What makes me passionate about teaching is watching my students improve and blossom into enthusiastic and competent English speakers. My style is approachable and fun, so my students can learn without inhibition. I base my lessons on the individual needs of the student to keep motivation high and progress strong.
Apart from teaching, I love to travel and experience new cultures and food. I have travelled to many places in China including Dalian, Sanya, Qingdao, Beijing, Shanghai and Xiamen.
