About Cathe
Teaching French for the past 11 years has given me the joy of guiding students from school to college as they discover the beauty of the language. My teaching style is warm, structured, and interactive. I focus on developing grammar, sentence building, pronunciation, and fluency using fun and practical methods.
I believe students learn best when lessons feel relevant, so I incorporate real-life French dialogues, cultural facts, songs, and short films to make the language come alive. I also use innovative digital tools—flashcards, audio aids, quizzes, and listening activities—to make concepts easier to retain.
My approach values accountability, regular communication, and adaptability, ensuring every learner receives support tailored to their needs. Over the years, I’ve helped students improve grades, boost speaking confidence, and prepare for academic evaluations.

I approach teaching French with a focus on five guiding principles: Accountability, Integrity, Flexibility, Communication, and Positivity. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning through goal-setting, structured exercises, and continuous progress review. This accountability ensures steady advancement and promotes motivation and confidence throughout the learning process.
Integrity is central to my teaching. I maintain transparent lesson plans, provide honest feedback, and clarify expectations to ensure learners understand their path to success. Flexibility allows me to adjust teaching methods to each student’s unique learning style, whether through grammar practice, conversational exercises, reading comprehension, or writing assignments.
Communication is emphasised in all lessons. Students engage in interactive dialogues, listening exercises, role-playing, and real-world scenarios to strengthen their fluency and confidence. Positivity is integral, fostering a safe and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to take risks, embrace challenges, and develop self-confidence in French.
I also teach related subjects, including basic literature, cultural context, reading, and writing skills, which complement language learning and expand overall academic proficiency. By combining these methods, my teaching approach ensures students develop strong linguistic skills while enjoying a meaningful, engaging, and practical learning experience.
