About Emma
my name is Emma, and I’m very excited to learn Chinese you in this interest class. I completed my middle and high school education in China and received systematic Chinese language instruction. And I have some teaching experience in Chinese for kids. As a Chinese teacher, I not only focus on language instruction but also hope to spark your interest in Chinese and help you experience the charm of the language.
In this interest class, we will learn Chinese in a fun and relaxed way, focusing on practical vocabulary, basic daily conversations, and an introduction to Chinese culture. I will design interactive activities, such as games, role-playing, and group discussions, to help everyone improve their language skills in practice, while also gaining a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and customs.
This class is low-pressure, and the goal is to make learning Chinese enjoyable, encouraging you to continue your studies. I believe everyone will find joy in learning Chinese here.

In the first Chinese lesson, the student will learn the basics of the language, focusing on Pinyin and pronunciation. The lesson covers the basic sounds of Pinyin, including consonants and vowels, with pronunciation practice. Next, the four tones in Mandarin are introduced, with examples showing how the meaning of “ma” changes depending on the tone. The student then learns common greetings like “nǐ hǎo” (hello) and “xièxiè” (thank you), practicing these in a one-on-one setting. The teacher also introduces simple Chinese characters, such as “人” (person) and “大” (big), and demonstrates how to write them. The class concludes with interactive practice and a brief review. If assigned, the student may need to practice Pinyin pronunciation or write out the characters learned. This lesson provides a solid foundation for further Chinese learning.
