About Jaime
I am an energetic and committed teacher in County Durham, who has a relaxed yet purposeful approach to supporting young people, where I have taught for 15 years. My main teaching experience is in Years 4, 5 and 6, particularly in Year 6 where I have taught for 10 years, giving me fast experience of preparing children for SATs with exam boards like the STA and secondary school. My classes have always really enjoyed my engaging teaching style and this has helped them to achieve strong results. I passionately believe in independent learning and in supporting all children to be the very best version of themselves that they can be. Tutoring gives me a great way to support each child as a true individual and tailor my teaching to their specific needs and I love seeing the progress the children make. Throughout my teaching career, I have strived to always improve my practice and to challenge the children in my care to challenge themselves too. I have lots of experience teaching the whole primary curriculum in Years 4, 5 and 6. Although confident in teaching all subjects, where lesson observations have been consistently outstanding, my teaching of Years 4, 5 and 6 Maths and Reading are my strongest areas. In aim to engage children in tutoring with my energy, humour and relaxed style while also pushing them to develop by proving to them that they CAN achieve their very best. I am available to tutor any time over the weekends, any evenings and at any time during school holidays. Typical lessons with me are based on meeting the child where they are and using ongoing assessment to adapt within the lessons and between lessons in order to ensure the child makes the maximum level of progress academically and in terms of their confidence.
