About Ryan
I'm an EMT and have been in the field for several years and currently have my NREMT, Kansas, and Missouri licenses. I have worked for three different agencies two private, and my current one a county 911 service. In that time I've learned a great amount about patient contact including transporting patients from one hospital to another and how to speak with patients to make them feel more at ease with the situation. I've also learned how to speak to and interact with people with different disabilities or diseases such as autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, and severe mental illness. I have also transferred and dealt with young children in both emergencies and non emergencies.
I've learned over the years how to take a patient history, how to speak to witnesses of the event and gain information that is valuable to our patient care. I'm able to respond to emergency calls ranging from shortness of breath to a complete cardiac arrest and assist in all ranges of care.
Calling in a report to the hospital over the radio to the charge nurse where everyone can hear you is something that is now much easier to do.

EMS classes, learning and especially testing can be much harder than other things we have studied in life. It can be scary and overwhelming knowing that what we learn will one day come into practice and could save a life.
I feel the best way to help people learn is a laid back atmosphere. Its hard to learn and retain knowledge when we go 100 miles per hour. We will go over what you feel you need the most help in. We'll work together to not just learn and understand that topic, but also how we can possibly refine any other problems you may be having in your study methods, test taking methods, and class so we can make sure you'll be able to use those skills to not just pass but also help people.
