About Charlotte
Charlotte Bash holds a Bachelor's in Music from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, and a Master's of Education in Special Education from National University. While at Indiana University, Charlotte began teaching private voice lessons, and when she moved back to Los Angeles, she expanded her teaching to the recording studio, stage, and classroom. In addition to teaching private voice lessons, Charlotte is also the Director of Performing Arts at a Special Education school that specializes in assisting children and young adults with Autism. There, she teaches a variety of different subjects, including Ethnomusicology, History of Jazz and Soul, History of Rock, History of Musical Theater, AP Music Theory, Music Appreciation, and Diversity in Arts and Culture. In addition to her classroom teaching, she also heads the musical direction school for school fundraisers and directs and produces the Spring musical. In addition, she currently serves on the board of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Los Angeles Chapter. By utilizing the Bel Canto technique and social-emotional learning techniques, Charlotte specializes in teaching singers how to crossover into a variety of genres with healthy vocal technique, emotional intent, and confidence.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching method blends Bel Canto vocal technique with social-emotional learning principles to help each student develop a healthy, expressive, and sustainable voice. I focus on helping singers use breath, resonance, and articulation to convey authentic emotion across genres. Lessons are tailored to the individual’s learning style, vocal goals, and artistic identity, integrating elements of performance psychology, body awareness, and musicianship.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson begins with physical and vocal warm-ups designed to release tension and establish healthy alignment. We then work through targeted vocal exercises to strengthen breath support, expand range, and balance resonance. The second half of the lesson is repertoire-based, applying technical concepts to songs chosen collaboratively for the student’s goals, whether that’s musical theatre, pop, or classical music. I often record portions of lessons so students can practice more effectively between sessions.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What sets me apart is my combination of performance experience, academic training, and special education expertise. With over 16 years of teaching, I understand how to meet students where they are. I specialize in helping singers crossover between genres with healthy technique and confidence, and I bring a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming approach that creates a safe and inspiring learning environment for every student.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are for students of all levels, from beginners learning vocal fundamentals to advanced performers refining technique or preparing for auditions, recordings, and live shows. I also work extensively with neurodiverse students and those with unique learning profiles, adapting lessons to each student’s strengths and challenges. Ages typically range from middle school through adult professionals.
