About Jake
My passion for jazz piano is deeply rooted in a lifelong love of music. From an early age, I was captivated by the intricate rhythms and soulful melodies of jazz, Funk, Blues, Pop, and RnB. This fascination has driven me to explore and master these genres, and now, with over 4 years of experience, I am dedicated to sharing this passion with my students. Teaching allows me to connect with others through music, and I find immense joy in helping students discover their own love for these styles.
Jazz, in particular, is a genre that thrives on improvisation and personal expression. Guiding students to develop their unique voice on the piano is incredibly rewarding. I believe that every student has their own musical story to tell, and my role is to provide the tools and knowledge they need to tell it with confidence and flair.
My teaching philosophy revolves around making learning both enjoyable and enriching. I strive to create lessons that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s interests and skill level. Whether we are delving into the complexities of jazz harmony or grooving to a classic RnB tune, my goal is to foster a positive and motivating environment. Seeing my students' progress and witnessing their growing enthusiasm for music is what fuels my passion and commitment as a tutor.
