About Kim
I taught first, second, and third grade in the public school. I was also a reading specialist with small groups of struggling readers. I became a librarian, which was the result of a love for books and sharing that love with others. I have also taught ESL online for four years, for ages ranging from four to twelve. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education and have TESOL and library science certification.

I am an energetic and encouraging tutor, perfect for your shy or introverted student. I assess each child's needs and develop a curriculum based on the individual. I love to get students involved by using what they are interested in.
After our initial lesson, my lesson plans will involve review from the previous lesson, while building on a new skill. I like to make each student feel comfortable with me and with learning. Conversation is key in an online environment and can make "learning" seem secondary to a child. I value establishing a trusting relationship and making lessons that truly excite each student based on their interests. I will always take the time to for the three P's of my class; planning, positivity, and personalized lessons.
My style of online teaching is very well suited for early learners, ESL students, and elementary age children in general.
