About Lexie

Hello! My name is Lexie Suydam, and I am an elementary educator and Reading Specialist with experience working with students in grades 1–4. I currently provide reading intervention services in Chelsea Public Schools, where I work closely with students to strengthen their reading, writing, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills. I am passionate about helping children build confidence in their abilities and develop a love for learning. My teaching approach focuses on creating a positive, supportive environment where every student feels successful and capable of reaching their goals. I believe that strong relationships, engaging instruction, and individualized support are key to helping students grow both academically and personally. Whether I am teaching reading, writing, or foundational literacy skills, my goal is always to help students become confident, independent learners.

Hi! My name is Lexie, and I am a Reading Specialist and elementary educator who is passionate about helping students become confident readers, writers, and learners.

I have experience working with students in grades 1–4 and specialize in supporting children who need extra help with reading, comprehension, vocabulary, phonics, fluency, and writing. I also have extensive experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners, and I understand that every child learns at their own pace.

My tutoring sessions are personalized to meet each student's individual needs. Whether your child needs support building foundational reading skills, improving comprehension, strengthening writing, or gaining confidence in school, I create engaging lessons that make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

What makes my tutoring different is that I focus on helping students understand how to learn, not just memorize answers. I use research-based strategies, hands-on activities, games, discussion, and positive encouragement to help students grow academically and feel successful.
