About Rachael
Hi! I’m Rachael, a tutor with a strong background in elementary and middle school education. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an ESL focus from the University of Arizona (Magna Cum Laude) and am currently pursuing my Master's in Mathematics Education. I've worked as a First Grade Associate Teacher and a Middle School Learning Lab Instructor where I support a wide range of learners every day. My tutoring sessions are designed to meet students where they are. We start with a quick review, dive into new material at a pace that feels right, and practice skills with lots of encouragement and feedback. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, and interactive activities to make sure learning sticks and feels rewarding! I specialize in helping elementary and middle school students with math, reading, and writing. I also have experience supporting English Language Learners and students who need extra help building confidence. Families can count on me for a professional, caring, and personalized approach that helps each student grow and succeed.

My teaching approach is student centered and highly adaptive. I focus on understanding how each individual learns best, whether that's visually, auditory, kinesthetically, or through reading and writing. I believe in breaking complex ideas down into manageable steps, using real-world examples to make abstract concepts relatable, and constantly checking for understanding through questioning and practice. I also encourage active participation, critical thinking, and reflection to help students build confidence in their own problem-solving abilities.
I typically work with elementary to middle school students (Grades k–8), especially in subjects like math, reading, and writing. I also specialize in supporting students who may need extra help building foundational skills, including those with learning differences like ADHD or dyslexia. My lessons are designed to meet learners at their current level whether they are looking to catch up, stay on pace, or push ahead.
I’m deeply committed to making learning feel engaging and personalized. I take time to build strong rapport with students, helping them feel safe to make mistakes and ask questions. I also integrate modern tools and creative exercises when appropriate, keeping sessions dynamic and motivating. My patience, adaptability, and passion for seeing students grow set me apart from others.
