About Emma
Hello! My name is Mrs. Cherne, and I have been teaching in a traditional classroom setting for two and a half years. I love helping students learn and expand their knowledge, as it is one of the most powerful things that we have! I have a special place in my heart for students who are dealing with stress at school because they feel as though they are falling behind, don't understand, or are overwhelmed with homework. That is why I am here. Students like this can overcome these obstacles through encouraging, one-on-one support from a teacher who knows that the struggle is real. Learning should be an adventure, and not a wearisome burden! In my lessons, I help students catch up on homework, walk them through helpful study tips, and provide moral support for them as they navigate their assignments. In my spare time, I have many hobbies including baking, writing, camping, and having fun with animals-which I love. I hope to help you on your journey towards academic success, and the adventure of learning!

My tutoring method is designed to put the student first. I believe that it is extremely helpful to guide the student into verbally processing the assigned homework. I then provide step-by-step support to fill in the missing gaps in the student's comprehension. In this way, the student practices independent problem-solving while receiving the needed guidance and support at the same time. A normal session includes going over the student's homework assignments and encouraging their completion to be an enlightenment and not a drudgery. I provide services to all grades from PreK to 8th.
